“These things I have spoken to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you shall have distress. But have confidence. I have overcome the world. “
John 16.33 (DRB)
Do not be disturbed by problems.
Jesus said that we will have tribulation and distress in a world we live in. At the same time He said that He has overcome the world, what did He mean?
The nature of this world, as it is now, is far from God and will cause a lot of problems and distress. Current economical problems are just another proof of it. Jesus confirmed that this is not going to change until He will come back to earth. But he also said that we should be of good cheer because He overcome the world. What exactly he meant? This means that if you are a child of God you are under his protection (if you believe). Jesus has all the power in the Universe and He is well able to protect you and help you in any situation. So if even there are troubles and disasters you don’t have to fall a victim of them. Grow you faith and trust in God. Read daily Catholic Bible and believe what it says! Read at least verse a day and follow it with a reflection.
Pray with me
Dear God please teach me how to trust you, how to rely on you everyday. I don't want to be afraid anymore! Thank you Lord for your protection!
