“A psalm for David. The Lord ruleth me: and I shall want nothing. He hath set me in a place of pasture. He hath brought me up, on the water of refreshment: He hath converted my soul. He hath led me on the paths of justice, for his own name's sake. For though I should walk in the midst of the shadow of death, I will fear no evils, for thou art with me. Thy rod and thy staff, they have comforted me. Thou hast prepared a table before me against them that afflict me. Thou hast anointed my head with oil; and my chalice which inebreateth me, how goodly is it! And thy mercy will follow me all the days of my life. And that I may dwell in the house of the Lord unto length of days. “

Psalm 23

Emmanuel – God is with us!

Are you afraid? Do you feel lonely? Are you facing problems? Is God with you in all this? What do you think?

David was a man according to God’s heart. He trusted and believed God always. This psalm pictures his attitude probably the best. It is like confession of his faith. Even if he walks in the valley of the death he will not fear because he knows that God is always with him. Life is not easy. We often have to walk through some sort of the valley of the death. What is your confession when it happens? What are your feelings? Are you scared, in panic or still and full of faith because God is with you? Because if God is with you, it doesn’t matter what circumstances are. You are safe! You will go through unharmed. You will see the sun again when you will get to the other side! Do you know that one of the names of Jesus was Emmanuel what means God with us. Jesus came to Earth so God can be with us again. Before Jesus left to His father in Heaven He said “I am with you always” then He sent his Holy Spirit to the Earth! Through his Holy Spirit He is always with us! No matter how you feel, no matter what you think! He is always with you, so there is no need to be afraid. Instead you should be full of hope, trust and faith. He will help you! You are not alone, ever!

As we Catholics enter the quiet solemn season of Advent, "that which was conceived
In her MARY was of the holy spirit" let us remember God comes to us Christians to perform a miracle. He loves you. Wait for Jesus.
