“Again I say to you, that if two of you shall consent upon earth, concerning anything whatsoever they shall ask, it shall be done to them by my Father who is in heaven. For where there are two or three gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”

Matthew 18.19-20

Power of consent prayer!

Many of us have heard that joint prayer of few people may be very powerful. Most of us are not aware how powerful it really is, and what is so called “catch”. In other words – why it may not work at all.

When Jesus is talking about it, he is using words like: anything and whatsoever. Meaning of those words is pretty obvious. If you can ask for anything, it means anything, there are no limits for what you may ask for. If you put a limitation on what you can ask God for, it is your problem and you are not in the truth. When Jesus says something, he means it.

Having said this, let’s look at another sentence “it shall be done to them”. Do you think that Jesus can lie? Do you think that he lied? Well, if he didn’t lie, then He must say the truth! It shall be done to you. Whatsoever you ask in consent with others – it shall be done! Simple! Doubts? Keep in mind one thing – Jesus doesn’t lie! So now it is only the matter if you believe him or not. Problem is not in God but  in us!

Alright, what is the “catch”? It must be done in his name! Well, here we go. Now I could write 5 pages of A4, to explain what it means to do something in his name. But to make it simple, to ask or do something in his name you must at least:

- belong to him, be his child,

- be reconciled with him,

- be honest, be in truth, have good intentions,

- be in his will,

Those four should do for starters.
