“And on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalen cometh early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre: and she saw the stone taken away from the sepulchre.
She ran therefore and cometh to Simon Peter and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved and saith to them: They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulchre: and we know not where they have laid him.
Peter therefore went out, and the other disciple: and they came to the sepulchre.
And they both ran together: and that other disciple did outrun Peter and came first to the sepulchre.
And when he stooped down, he saw the linen cloths lying: but yet he went not in.
Then cometh Simon Peter, following him, and went into the sepulchre: and saw the linen cloths lying,
And the napkin that had been about his head, not lying with the linen cloths, but apart, wrapped up into one place.
Then that other disciple also went in, who came first to the sepulchre: and he saw and believed. “
John 20:1-8
He is risen!
What is the greatest hope of Christianity? The Resurrection. What is the greatest message of our faith? Jesus is risen!
Dear Mary Magdalen, Simon Peter, disciples and my dear fellow Catholics – He was not taken by Romans, He was risen and taken by his Father to Heaven!
Jesus is not dead any more. He sits on his throne, on the right hand of the Father. He went there before us, and for us. He went there to prepare a way and place for us (he is the way and the truth). He paid a price for our sins. A punishment for a sin is death, and He died in our place, so we can have an open way to heaven (where he is now). We do not have to be punished for our sins any more. Our sins are forgiven, because he was punished in our place.
What a good news! Jesus not only became a way to heaven for us. He is constantly praying and interceding for you and me. He is praying for our faith will be strong, our problems to be overcome, and that, we will not lose our way to Him! He does that every day for all of us! He knows our situation and difficulties.
What now then, you will ask? My Friend, trust Him, invest all your trust in Him. Walk through your life as He did. Walk, doing good, believing God and follow his footsteps. Let your character resembles his, and you will have an open doorway to heaven, always!
