“Therefore, judge not before the time: until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts. And then shall every man have praise from God. “
1Co 4:5

Judge Not!

All people, you and me included, have a tendency to judge others by what we see. Unfortunately, what we see, in most cases is just a tip of an iceberg. We may condemn somebody, for what he did, by not knowing at all, why he did it. We may also justify somebody, when not knowing how evil his intent really was. People lie, hide truth and pretend. The only person in the world, who will truly know, what happened, is God himself.

That is why He said – DO NOT JUDGE!

Even such an institution as court, is making mistakes. You may have an unjust judge, false witnesses or deceiving circumstances. It is not so uncommon, that innocent people are jailed for years.

There is one more, paramount reason not to judge.

“Judge not, that you may not be judged. For with what judgment you judge, you shall be judged: and with what measure you mete, it shall be measured to you again. “
Mat 7.1-2

In short, however you judge other people, so God will judge you. If you judge people without a mercy, God will treat you exactly the same way. If you show people mercy, so will God do for you.
I hope, that at least this last example, will give you a good reason not to judge others.

Yes, I agree, it's one of my biggest faults. I pray about it daily. One reason I may do this is caused from jealousy. Having been brought up a Catholic, going to mass daily, I fall short of the teachings that Jesus taught. I ask that anyone who may be reading this to please pray for me. Ask our Lord to give me peace and see only the good in everyone I meet and anyone I know. In Jesus' Name. Amen. (Thank you).
