meditation

“And going into one of the ships that was Simon's, he desired him to draw back a little from the land. And sitting, he taught the multitudes out of the ship.
Now when he had ceased to speak, he said to Simon: Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a draught.
And Simon answering said to him: Master, we have laboured all the night and have taken nothing: but at thy word I will let down the net.
And when they had done this, they enclosed a very great multitude of fishes: and their net broke. “
Luke 5.3-6

God knows what to do!

We can find ourselves very often in a position, that we do not know what to do. We labour very hard  all night/week/month, and we gain nothing.

“If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
And if I should have prophecy and should know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I should have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
And if I should distribute all my goods to feed the poor, and if I should deliver my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.”
1 Cor. 13.1-3

We are nothing without love!

Probably, none of us is planing to do all the things mentioned above. Although, if you would do even a few of them, you are still nothing without love. I must add – in eyes of God. You may be very popular among people, though. You may become a celebrity on TV by doing that, but it will mean nothing to God.

"Blessed is the people that knoweth jubilation. They shall walk, O Lord, in the light of thy countenance:
And in thy name they shall rejoice all the day, and in thy justice they shall be exalted.
For thou art the glory of their strength: and in thy good pleasure shall our horn be exalted.
For our protection is of the Lord, and of our king the holy one of Israel. "
Psalm 89.16-17,18-19

And the same verses form different translation (for better understanding):

“Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance.
In thy name shall they rejoice all the day: and in thy righteousness shall they be exalted.
For thou art the glory of their strength: and in thy favour our horn shall be exalted.
For the LORD is our defence; and the Holy One of Israel is our king. “

Well of blessing.

This small piece of scripture alone is like a well of blessing (much more entire Bible).
So, who are those blessed people? Those who know, how to walk in joy and to be thankful to the Lord. You see, problems should not stop you from being joyful and thankful. The Lord is good and loves us. When you understand that, you will walk in everlasting joy and thanksgiving, no matter what.

There are promises for those who live that way:

You shall walk in a light of His countenance.
The Lord and his light will be with you, wherever you go. His light will make your path easier to walk. You will see traps of life and avoid them. No darkness around you, can dim His light. No matter how heavy the darkness, you will have light!

There will be no sadness in your life, just joy.
All day long and every day. Because the Lord and his name are the source of your joy, nothing and nobody can take it away from you. Ever!

In thy justice they shall be exalted.
God loves you. He is just, and He knows your heart, and all the good you do. He will exalt you. He will do that in the face of your enemies. His favour is with you.

For thou art the glory of their strength.
No weaknesses can overtake you. Your strength comes straight from the Lord. He is an inexhaustible source of strength.

For our protection is of the Lord.
If the Lord is your protection (shield), there is no danger, dangerous enough to get through.
